It angers me so much when people steal your subtitles and don’t give you all credit, especially considering the hard work you put into this. I know it’s not much, just know that it’s appreciated by many.
Love it when people who steal and distribute content complain when other people then steal and distribute their own content.
No one else in the fansub community needs hardsubs and paywalls because this community has always understood that thieves calling out other thieves is ridiculous. You are truly the amateurs you claim to be. Greedy, egotistical hypocrites.
I think you’re misunderstanding the situation. There’s nothing “greedy” about trying to protect the work we put time and effort into. Subbing takes hours — timing, translation, editing — and when others remove our credits and repost it as their own, it’s discouraging.
This kind of disregard is exactly why SakuraCircle stopped doing what they did. They released subtitles for free, yet other sites reused their work and profited from it without sharing any revenue with the guy. When everyone treats fansubbing like a free-for-all and exploits the work for profit without giving credit or support, how fair or respectful is that?
To be clear: no streaming site — aside from HentaiOcean — has ever reached out to support or collaborate. That silence speaks volumes.
KyokuSaiYume, the only one consistently providing WEBRips, hasn’t received a single donation in over two years. Is that really the “community understanding” you’re talking about?
Most WEB-DL raws are low quality if you haven’t noticed.
We do our best to offer something better — both visually and linguistically. But honestly, we’d be fine not sharing video files at all. The only problem is that it’s not sustainable. People want convenience, but they rarely consider what it takes to provide it.

Basically what you’ve stated you should provide a service that takes you 9 – 18 hours per episode for free because the original content providers can’t/won’t.
The issue is that if there was a way that these companies provided their own content to US/English viewers, a group like ours wouldn’t be necessary. If all studios tomorrow started providing quality subtitles tomorrow, I would immediately quit today.
However they don’t, so we are choosing to continue providing this service.
Hardsubs are free, nothing is charged for them.
Softsubs are potentially (for this episode are) paywalled.
The only reason is so that people don’t directly take these and post them on their websites with absolutely no recognition to the actual translators they’ve been taking from. Even if this only slows down the process, honestly it doesn’t matter.
I don’t really understand the anger that Hardsubs create, to me subs are subs. It’s also not my decision to make but I absolutely understand why the others in the team desire it.
As someone who clearly just cares about “getting what I want for free” you have no idea the effort that’s put in and took other groups like SakuraCircle for granted EXPECTING them to provide hours and days of work for free just because the “video” is content. That’s fine, if it doesn’t bother you having subtitles, then go buy the original content. Why are you even here? You don’t want/need the subs, so why are you even here? Just go buy the DVD’s yourself and never come back.

Nah, T-rex usually delivers 1-2 episodes per month, which is kinda good. Nothing next month though.
Kanojos are good, elf is good, 1LDK is good and Motokare is very good too. So this month is actually nice.
